Making a matching activity

I just posted on my blog about creating a matching activity. I've tried three ways:

The CLI Learning Activity Wizards, uncovering faults I'm afraid. Adobe Captivate and Hot Potatoes.

The post is here http://mathsclass.net/comments/making-a-matching-activity/.

I'd appreciate your comments if you've found any other tools for making this type of activity.

I don't have internet access in my classroom yet (who knows when I will).

I used my new laptop and the faculty's data projector the other day to show some short videos on volume and capacity to my Y9 class. I downloaded them from teachertube, which I've only just discovered. I've also just discovered how to download youtube videos by using the keepvid site. Great!

Sometime soon I'll post a list of the the most useful videos I've found.

Statistics Idea

Okay I posed this for my top Yr 8 Maths Class - but they are all enthused

Showed them the original and best "Shift Happens" Youtube Clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMcfrLYDm2U

Kids are going to get Australian statistics - plus new and intersting ones (e.g. Twitter) - one suggestion was number of sausages eaten in a lifetime and create an "Aussie" Version

Maths Links

I found that I was bookmarking many sites on Delicious that had large amounts of Maths widgets etc. Problem was finding a specific item I'd seen in the past to use in a specific lesson. So, I started cataloging individual items that I actually use. I recently expanded it a bit, linked items to the NSW 7-10 Mathematics Syllabus, made it public and possible for others to post items to:
